How often can I get Meridian Treatments done?

Frequency depends on the individual's goals, current condition, and lifestyle. For active concerns (e.g. chronic puffiness, hormonal symptoms, poor sleep), more frequent initial sessions may be recommended. For maintenance and ongoing wellness, regular monthly sessions are common. A therapist consultation will provide a personalised recommendation.

What concerns can Meridian Therapy help with?

Meridian Therapy is beneficial for a wide range of concerns: puffiness and facial heaviness, dark eye rings and under-eye bags, droopy eyelids, double chin, wrinkles and laugh lines, tension headaches and migraines, sinus congestion, teeth grinding and jaw tension, uneven (dry and oily) skin, natural facial lifting, hormonal imbalance, buffalo hump / upper back tension, bloating, mood swings and anxiety, poor sleep, and chronic stress.

Is there any discomfort during Meridian Therapy?

Some clients may feel firm pressure, especially in congested or tight areas. This is a normal part of acupoint release and fascial work. The sensation is usually described as "pressure that feels good" rather than pain. Any sensitivity is typically temporary and often improves as blockages release over subsequent sessions.

If I have active breakouts, can I still get my treatment done?

Yes, you can. We avoid areas with active acne or pimples to prevent irritation. The therapy focuses on unclogging other areas of the face to remove toxins produced by bacteria that can cause acne. This helps to reduce future flare-ups. If your acne is widespread, we recommend starting with our Acne Detox Program to cleanse your bowel and liver before starting Meridian Face Lift Therapy.

Will Meridian Therapy help with my sleep?

Many clients experience noticeably improved sleep after Meridian Therapy sessions. The treatment activates the parasympathetic nervous system — the body's rest-and-restore state — and releases accumulated tension along stress-related meridian pathways. Clients often feel deeply relaxed during and after treatment, and consistent sessions may contribute to improved sleep patterns over time.

Can Meridian Therapy help women going through perimenopause?

Yes — Meridian Therapy addresses many of the most common perimenopause complaints directly. In TCM, perimenopause symptoms are closely linked to imbalances in the Kidney, Liver, and Heart meridians — which govern hormonal regulation, emotional stability, and sleep. Acupoint stimulation along these pathways helps regulate hormonal fluctuations, reduce mood swings and anxiety, improve sleep quality, calm the nervous system, and relieve hot flashes associated with Kidney Yin deficiency. Many women going through perimenopause find that consistent Meridian sessions help manage symptoms that are difficult to address through conventional approaches alone.

Can Meridian Therapy help with hormonal issues?

In TCM, certain meridian pathways are connected to the endocrine and reproductive systems. Stimulating specific acupoints is associated with encouraging hormonal regulation, reducing mood swings, and supporting overall reproductive health. Many clients report improvements in hormonal-related symptoms over a course of treatments. For clients with diagnosed hormonal conditions, a consultation is recommended.

Can Meridian Therapy really help with headaches and sinus issues?

Yes. In TCM, headaches, migraines, and sinus congestion are often linked to blocked meridian pathways and stagnant Qi flow in the head and neck region. Acupoint stimulation along the relevant meridians helps release this blockage, improve circulation to the area, and encourage drainage. Many clients notice relief after sessions — particularly those with recurring tension headaches or sinus pressure.

Can Meridian Therapy help women with a "damp" body constitution?

Yes — this is one of Meridian Therapy's most targeted applications. In TCM, dampness accumulates when the Spleen and Kidney meridians are weak or blocked, causing the body to lose its ability to process and eliminate excess fluid efficiently. This presents as persistent bloating, body heaviness, water retention, fatigue, brain fog, and weight that doesn't shift with diet or exercise. Meridian Therapy directly stimulates the Spleen and Kidney acupoints to restore their transformative function — activating lymphatic drainage, improving Qi flow through the digestive and fluid-regulating pathways, and helping the body expel accumulated dampness. Results tend to build progressively as the meridian pathways strengthen over consistent sessions.

If I just had Botox/Filler, can I get the treatment done?

We recommend waiting at least two weeks after Botox for optimal results. If the fillers were done more than 6 months ago, there should be no issue. For treatments done within the last 3-6 months, we will avoid areas where the fillers were injected.

Is Meridian Therapy the same as Gua Sha?

While both therapies aim to improve circulation, Gua Sha only works on the skin’s surface with a flat, curved tool. In contrast, Meridian Face Lift Therapy goes deeper, targeting specific meridian pathways to unclog energy blockages. We use magnetic tools to stimulate Qi flow and restore balance in the facial muscles and tissues.

Is VII SKINN’s Meridian therapy the same as Bojin?

No. Both are inspired by TCM meridian principles, but the techniques and experiences are different. At VII SKINN, Meridian therapy uses magnetic tools with deep, continuous strokes to stimulate Qi (energy) flow, circulation, and natural lifting—gentle and comfortable even for sensitive skin. Bojin, on the other hand, relies on scraping tools like jade or ox-horn applied on pressure points.

Is Meridian Therapy just a facial massage?

No — Meridian Therapy is a functional, results-driven treatment, not a relaxation massage. Therapists are trained in acupoint stimulation along specific meridian pathways, fascia release techniques, and lymphatic drainage methods. The results are measurable: improved facial structure, reduced puffiness, better drainage, hormonal regulation, and more. The relaxation effect is a side effect of activating the parasympathetic nervous system, not the primary goal.
